Trainings

                                                                      Bespoke Trainings to suit you

We design trainings with you to suit you. We offer lecture style or small group trainings  either at your place or our own cosy venue, where you may also receive a cooked lunch. Both styles of training incorporate experiential exercises  as well as information and teachings about mindfulness.

Our principle trainer, Jayne, is a Gestalt psychotherapist (who's had a private practice for 16 years and lots of experience in facilitating groups/training) and can bring a particular depth to the trainings - at the home venue she keeps groups small so that there is time for plenty of questions, discussion and exploration.

You may be an organisation who, like Google and many other big corporations, wants to make mindfulness an integral part of your whole workplace, enhancing focus, innovation, teamwork and productivity

Perhaps you are a work-team wanting regular lunch-time practice sessions for relaxation purposes.

You may, in line with governmental recommendations, want to become a mindful school, college or university department where both teachers/lecturers and pupils/students are given the tools to help them cope with the demands of modern education. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress and enhance awareness, the capacity to learn better, emotional resilience and positive relationships.

Perhaps you are a medical centre or counselling service who wants to combine mindfulness training for your practitioners with tips for how, and when, to pass on mindfulness tools to patients or clients. Mindfulness can help to manage pain pain and alleviating many illnesses.

You may be a family which wants to be more relaxedcloser and less argumentative. Mindfulness training for the whole family can be combined with family therapy techniques

As an individual who's stressed out or not feeling as happy or content as you could, mindfulness can offer you a lot; again it can be combined with counselling or psychotherapy if you're particularly anxious, depressed or struggling.
"Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside."                                                              Ramana Maharshi

Scheduled group Trainings, Retreats Days & Mindfulness Evenings

Introduction to Mindfulness Days:

Saturday 16th May 2020, Saturday 26th July 2020  -  for the general public

                Saturday  7th March 2020 , Saturday 12th September 2020  - for counsellors and therapists*

* The days assigned specifically for counsellors and therapists include tools for working with clients.

Teachers,  medical staff, social workers, foster carers  etc  may also be taught methods for working with pupils/patients/clients/children in care etc.

As there only six places per day it's advisable to book early.  Days are 10.00 am to 5.00. (6 hours CPD).
Booking follows us having a short mutual assessment on the phone.
You can schedule a day to yourselves (in the week if you like) if you're a group of six - or more if you have a suitable venue.

This popular day's training is suitable if you want an introduction to mindfulness and would like time to slow down in a cosy environment and perhaps reflect on how well you're taking care of yourself in our demanding, fast-paced culture. Because of the small size of the groups (maximum of six) we have plenty of time for discussion (that's if you want to contribute; there's no pressure), reflection and deep relaxation.

As noted above, Jayne, the facilitator of these days, is also a psychotherapist (and ex FE tutor and certified trainer) who's been teaching and creating 'safe spaces' for fifteen years and, because of her training and experience, is able to offer professional support if any emotional issues arise.

These days can be literally life-changing, or even, given the pressures of modern life, life-saving - mindfulness has been shown to work right down to a genetic level, enhancing health and even slowing down ageing!

Retreat Days: 10.00am-4.30pm

Retreat days are for those with some meditation experience; there are some teachings but more practice, interspersed with relaxation time (including mindful walking on the local park, finding a quiet spot in the garden or snoozing in the 'Cabin of Calm.'

It's a day of self-reflection, relaxation and sharing space - sometimes in silence- with people of a like-mind.  A cooked lunch is provided - giving us an experience of mindful eating.

2020 retreat dates:  Sunday 19th April 2020,

                                  Sunday 28th June 2020

Mindfulness Evenings: 7.30-9.30pm

We dedicate two evenings per month to practicing and learning more about mindfulness & sharing a bit about how we are feeling if we choose to. Priority places are given to people who have undergone our day's training or have other experience of mindfulness.

One group, facilitated by Jayne (an MSc qualified Gestalt therapist and mindfulness teacher) is held on the 'third Monday' (of each month) and is for women who give a lot to others - therapists, counsellors, nurses, teachers, mothers etc.

A second evening, on the 'first Tuesday' is facilitated by Jayne and Sarah (a senior NHS physio by day and fully qualified mindfulness teacher). This second group is open to men and women, again who have some understanding of mindfulness. As in the Monday group, we borrow from the classic MBSR/MBCT (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction/Cognitive Therapy)trainings but not exclusively. Sometimes we explore Buddhist teachings (whilst not being practicing Buddhists).

In the spirit of mindfulness, both evenings have an emphasis on self-care and self-compassion, which we see as the roots of compassion, health and happiness.
