Welcome!

At Mindfulness Nottingham we provide  bespoke mindfulness trainings for the whole community,  from charities, work, educational and medical settings  to individuals, friendship groups and families

Our principle trainer, Jayne, has been a social worker, FE tutor, school counsellor. community worker and, for two decades, a psychotherapist (www.creativeleaps.co.uk). She has been teaching mindfulness since 2014 and is a qualified teacher.

The powerful combination of mindfulness and therapy lends itself to excellent bespoke packages which can tackle stress, physical & emotional pain, trauma & relational issues, enhance awareness, confidence, self-esteem & self-care and boost concentration, learning, innovation & productivity.

We offer lecture style trainings or more intimate, discussion-rich small group sessions.

At our home venue we hold regular 'Introduction to Mindfulness' training days, some for the general public and others  for counsellors therapists, have rejuvenating Day Retreats and monthly Mindfulness Evenings All our day trainings and retreats include tasty home-made food.

With a large garden, an 18ft purpose-built cabin, an outside loo and small groups, we are often able to work around Coronavirus restrictions.  We also facilitate sessions on 'Zoom'.

 Regular Training &        Retreat Days

At our home venue in Nottingham, with its  cosy indoor space, purpose-built, heated, pine meditation cabin and bee-friendly garden, we offer regular 'Introduction to Mindfulness' days and, for those with some mindfulness experience, Retreat Days. Both have a cooked vegetarian lunch.

The Introductory days cover the history, science and benefits of  mindfulness, with plenty of experiential practices and discussion time.  Comprehensive handouts  give you a great 'tool box' which can seriously enhance your life!

Our principle trainer, Jayne, is also a  Gestalt psychotherapist and offers training days specifically for therapists and counsellors, combining mindful self-care with guidance on working with clients (6 hours CPD).

The Retreat Days include teachings but there is more practice, including mindful walking and sitting in the beautiful garden and some time spent in peaceful silence.  These days are a great opportunity for 'time out' to just relax, reflect and rejuvenate.

   Bespoke Trainings          to Suit You

Our bespoke trainings can be lecture style or delivered in small groups (at your venue or ours).

From work places, educational  and medical settings to charities, support groups and even family homes, we work with you to deliver trainings which suit you, from one-off eventto ongoing programmes.

We are professionally qualified & experienced teachers. Our principle trainer, Jayne Pigford, has been a social worker, community worker, school counsellor, FE teacher (specialising in stress management) and, for 20 years, a private psychotherapist.

Sarah White's a senior physiotherapist in the NHS who has been specialising in mindful pain management for many years.

We have a passion for teaching mindfulness - to both children and adults, having experienced and witnessed the many benefits both within ourselves and our clients.
Extensive research in mindfulness confirms our own experiences of enhanced resilience & better health, and more inner peace &  happiness.

      Mindfulness                Evenings

We have two 'Mindfulness Evenings' per month at our home venue (with plenty of free, on-street parking & refreshments), for people who have mindfulness experience (including one of our Introductory Training Days).

Our 'First Tuesday' evening is mixed gender and facilitated by Sarah and Jayne. Our 'Third Monday,' facilitated by Jayne is for women.

Both include mindfulness teachings, different practices and space for discussion, support & a sharing of our common humanitywe learn that we're not alone with our vulnerabilities and flaws! (You don't have to talk if you don't want to though.)

With her years of being a psychotherapist and trainer, having the invaluable experience of being very self-critical, a stressed-out social worker and dealing with serious health issues over many years, Jayne has a passion for self-care, so this is often explored during the evenings - and of course, self-compassion is at the heart of mindfulness!
